Under the supervision of the WR, provide technical guidance and cooperate with national authorities and partners toward the goals of polio eradication, measles mortality reduction, and neonatal tetanus elimination through implementing routine and supplemental immunization activities as well as supporting the introduction of new vaccines and technologies.

To reduce morbidity and mortality of vaccine preventable diseases by providing immunization for all children in the first five years of life and beyond and for all women of child-bearing age and contribute to the achievements of MDGs.
To eradicate poliomyelitis, to reduce mortality caused by measles, and to eliminate neonatal tetanus.
Description of duties:
1. Provide technical support for the development of action plan to improve national
immunization coverage;
2. Supports training, supervision, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of EPI programmes,
especially the RED strategy;
3. Supports Ministry of Health in planning and supervision of mass vaccination campaigns ;
4. Analyze routine EPI report and provide feedback to national and sub-national levels and partners;
5. Supports social and resource mobilization efforts for routine and supplemental immunization
6. Monitor, supervise and evaluate integrated disease control activities,and support donor coordination efforts toward immunization programme and other disease control/eliminat ion and.eradication objectives;
7. Provide support to national authorities in preparation of progress reports including annual reports and submitting to the ICC/partners, GAVI, and the Global Fund;
8. As the Team Leader, coach, facilitate and mentor the WCO/EPI team, and motivate others
involved in disease control activities in the country;
9. Carry out any other assignment as requested by WR.
Doctor of Medicine.
Excellent knowledge of computer software programmes for word processing, data analysis and
spread sheets.
Several years work experience in public health.

Excellent knowledge of both written and spoken English. Knowledge of any other UN languages ,
especially French, is an advantage.
