Communicate pertinent on WHO goals, policies, programmes, guidelines and activities to the media and other stakeholders in appropriate formats;
- Organise and undertake media coverage of WHO activities and programmes;
- Strengthen public and programme communications related to technical cooperation between WHO and Member States as well as development partners, including the media
- Provide communication support to the technical programmes and WCOs, and undertake internal communication, and
- Liaise withe the local, regional and international media to ensure informed and accurate coverage of WHO activities and programmes
Description des fonctions
Online posting of articles, reports, videos, slide shows etc. produced by the communication unit, in a professional and aesthetically appealing manner;
- Editing and compressing graphics and videos to web formats zhen appropriate for inclusion with written content;
- Liaising closely with the Web Manager to maintain the website and the intranet and develop new system features;
- Analysing website statistics to improve understanding of web usage and to establish communication priorities for the CAM unit work;
- Identifying ways to improve the website user experience and increase traffic, including by adjusting the information archetecture;
- Monitor social media engagement accross multiple platforms;
- Support the work of the CAM unit in creating and implementing effective online campaigns to engage with stakeholders;
- Promote WHO/AFROs online content among social media and search engines through other appropriate means;
- Helping to ensure WHO/AFROs diverse online content is kept accurate, relevant and up-to-date;
- Liaising with content team, video producers, translators, Country Offices etc.
- Building relationships with staff across the organisation to provide strategic advice, facilitate data collection and gather feedback on existing content on the website and intranet;
- Working with focal points at the Regional Office and Country Offices to help with and provide advice on their content organization and structure;
- Assisting with trainings for focal points to help them manage their content locally;
- Acting as a Regional online communications helpdesk to provide day-to-day troubleshooting tasks for focal points in the Regional Office and in Countries;
- Performing other related duties as required.
Formation :
Completion of secondary school with training in web development or related area.
Compétences :
Demonstrated skills and proficiency in Web Content Management System administration and web publishing
- Ability to learn new web/ online communication technologies and analytical problem solving skills
- Demonstrated skills in web design and development
- Expertise in the use of image editing software
- An interest in the health technical content produced by WHO.
Expérience :
 Ten to fifteen years of relevant experience
Experience in web authoring tools, such as Dreamweaver, Photoshop and other graphic design applications and JavaScript is required.
Experience in HTML and Cascading Style sheets as well as text formatting and encoding is required.

Desirable:- UN system experience an asset
Langues :
Excellent knowledge of French and working knowledge of English.
