OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME :
This technical support is in line with WHO's commitment to help the country's effort to ensure its people access to quality and equitable health services and help the country sustain progress towards universal health coverage. This will be done through provision of evidence to improve health systems and financing policies.
Description of duties:
Under the overall supervision of WHO Representative and close supervision of HSS program officer, the incumbent will perform the following activities:-


 Provides technical support with regards to health economic analysis of health care financing
 Generates and analyses information on quality of health service delivery in line with the national health systems performance monitoring and evaluation requirements and to the institutionalization of the national health accounts
 Works on primary and secondary data, generation and analysis of routine and non-routine data sources
 Performs any other tasks as assigned by supervisors.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
 Degree in economics or health economics
 Training in applied statistics is desired
Skills:
 Applied skills in data management and analysis using STATA, SPSS, CSpro and SAS
 Skills and experience on sampling methods, Econometrics, Categorical Data Analysis & Statistical Quality control
 Excellent communication, negotiation, leadership, advocacy and analytical skills.
 Very good interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
 Ability to work under pressure with conflicting priorities
 Ability to work both independently and in a team setting
 Sense of responsibility and strong organizational skills
Experience:

 Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience
 Familiarity with a range of socio-economic data sets, including household survey data, health, wealth and welfare data sets
 Experience with UN/WHO is an added advantage
Languages:
 Excellent working knowledge of English
Additional Information:
Annual Remuneration : USD 16, 665 Payable in ETB
