IRM Insurance Risk Managment
 
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME :
The Department of Finance ensures that the financial management framework provides the required financial controls, reporting systems and procedures to meet the Organization's needs. It is therefore responsible for WHO's accounting policy and systems, corporate accounting, financial reporting, income and expenditure, donor accounting and reporting, and treasury management policies.

The Department of Finance has also the responsibility for insurance and pension services, including administration of operations and risk management relating to staff and other financial risks.
Description of duties:
Under the general supervision of Head, IRM (Insurance Risk Management) and the general guidance of a senior assistant, the incumbent is assigned to servicing:
- WHO Non-Staff Group Insurance Contract covering Special Service Agreements (SSA's), Consultants, Temporary Advisors (TA's), Executive Board Members, Experts, Volunteers, Interns and Fellows.
- The WHO Voluntary Group Life Insurance Plan (GLI) covering staff members.
- Various WHO commercial insurance policies, which includes the following:
Fidelity bonding
Third party liability insurance
Household insurance abroad
Baggage insurance
Removals insurance
Flight insurance (concentrations of multiple employees in the same flight)
Special accident insurance coverage for personnel assigned to high-risk areas
Other duties as required:
- Supports IRM's Administrative Assistant in all areas of his/her work as and when required and acts as back-up during absences.
- Performs other duties within the IRM team as and when required by Head, IRM.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Essential:
Completion of secondary school education or equivalent.
Desirable:
Higher education an advantage.
Skills:
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Good ability with numbers and figures.
Good organizational skills.
Experience:
Essential
Minimum 5 years of administration experience (including experience with accounts and Human Resources), with a minimum of one year insurance experience working preferably in the private sector.

Desirable
Previous experience in social security, preferably involving a multi-country network an asset.
Languages:
Expert knowledge of English and French required. Knowledge of another WHO official language is an asset (Spanish, Arabic, Russian, Chinese).
Additional Information:
The following priority order will be observed in the screening of candidates: 1. WHO staff members (Continuing, Fixed-term and Temporary appointments), 2. External candidates.
