Description of duties:
Under the supervision and guidance of the Information Technology Officer (UN City ICT Services), the incumbent will perform the following duties:

1) Integrated Service Support

To formulate proposals for the design and delivery of specialized processes, focus on comprehensive service provision, seeking opportunities for synergies and process improvements, aiming at quality and cost effectiveness of UN City ICT services.

To take the lead in implementation, maintenance, administration and monitoring of a shared UN City Windows enterprise infrastructure and Common Services Shared Applications including respective operating systems and application solutions. To coordinate and assist with work of Network team or outsourcing partner.

2) Support Activities

To integrate an overall support service exercising supervision and/or coordination with related service areas.

To provide technical assistance on service calls escalated, break fix situations and support solutions.

To troubleshoot and diagnose shared resource issues, and assist in placing applications solutions in production, including provision of environments for applications and respective support.


3) Testing and Advancement

To review and evaluate new technologies, making recommendations for the installation of new solutions or for the enhancement of existing services. To maintain an inventory of solutions procured and installed.

To implement pilot projects for the introduction of new services, including appropriate testing and pre-implementation activities.

4) Documentation

To prepare detailed technical documentation, relevant user-documentation and operational procedures, and to proactively contribute to the IT Knowledge Base as appropriate.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Essential - Completion of secondary school or equivalent, supplemented with technical education or formal technical certification.

Desirable - Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and ITIL certification / training as an advantage.

Experience:
Essential - Seven years of relevant working experience, including management of Windows Enterprise infrastructure, SAN, Backups, VMware and Network Infrastructure.

Desirable - Experience with UN organizations and / or multinational institutions. Experience with Cicso Call Manager and telecommunications facilities VMware environments.
Languages:
Essential - Fluency (reading, writing and speaking) in English.
Additional Information:
This is a LOCAL vacancy and, as such, only qualified applicants residing within commuting distance of COPENHAGEN will be considered.

WHO does not cover any expenses related to participation in tests and/or interviews.

Successful test candidates will be invited to a competency-based interview.
