Organization unit:
The Health Systems and Innovation (HIS) cluster mission includes fostering innovation for better health and supporting Member States to promote UHC by strengthening health systems and innovative approaches. Policy dialogue, informed by best evidence and systematic learning, and supported by capacity strengthening, aims to improve equity in health, access, coverage, quality and efficiency of health services.
The Office of the Assistant Director General, HIS, is in charge of proposing and implementing a strategy to support the progressive realization of Universal Health Coverage by Member States, through strengthening of their national policies and health systems to support integrated delivery of quality health services, across populations and health conditions.
Description of duties:
Under direct supervision of the Manager of the independent Expert Review Group (iERG) secretariat, provide support to the work of the iERG. More specifically:
a. conduct literature searches and analysis, and draft documents as required;
b. liaise with various stakeholders of the work under the Commission on Information and Accountability on Women and Children's Health (COIA), including other international organizations, parliamentarians, civil society and the private sector;
c. develop and maintain appropriate web platforms, frameworks, and tools to facilitate the work of the group and the achievement of its objectives;
d. contribute to organizing iERG meetings; and
e. contribute to preparing the iERG annual reports.
As required perform other duties in line with the 10 COIA recommendations, or as requested by ADG/HIS.
Essential: University degree* in public health or economics or related discipline.
Desirable: Advanced level degree in any of the above-mentioned areas. Training in epidemiology or economics.

Knowledge of the policies of WHO. Demonstrated ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders and establish harmonious relationships. Diplomatic skills. Good writing skills.

Essential: At least five years relevant professional experience of which at least three years at an international level, in the area of public health. Proven experience in providing support to advisory and expert groups. Experience in managing web sites and web application.
Desirable: Experience in planning and organizing consultations and meetings.
Expert knowledge of English and Intermediate knowledge of French required.
Additional Information:
The following priority order will be observed in the screening of candidates: 1. WHO staff members (Continuing, Fixed-term and Temporary appointments), and 2. External candidates.

US$60,091 with primary dependants
Post Adjustment: 103.3 % of the above figure(s). This percentage is to be considered as indicative since variations may occur each month either upwards or downwards due to currency exchange rate fluctuations or inflation.
