OBJECTIFS DU PROGRAMME
As part of Control of Communicable Diseases, to assist Member States to formulate, develop, implement and evaluate their National Tuberculosis Control Programmes, paying particular attention to the influence of HIV/AIDS on Tuberculosis, emergency of MDR/TB and to implement Stop TB Strategy.
Description des fonctions
Under the supervision of the Director of the Cluster , the incumbent will:
A.Management:
1.Make and keep up dated situation analysis concerning Tuberculosis in the region and advise on its control measures using "Direct Observed Treatment Short Course " (DOTS) including impact of HIV and MDR/TB
2.Coordinate to the monitoring and evaluation of National Programme and disseminate results
3.Support countries to carry out international programme evaluation and disseminate the results, participate in comprehensive programme evaluation
4.Contribute to resources mobilization, by helping in preparation of project document at regional level including country resource mobilisation efforts.
5.Coordinate the development of Regional technical guidelines and tools

B.Training
6.Build national capabilities for Tuberculosis control including revising, updating and reorganization the training activities in the Region
7.Coordinate the identification of training needs of countries
8.Support national training needs by promoting and participating in National, Inter-country and regional training courses
9.Support the incorporation of TB in the curricula of Pre and Post services in training programs

C.Research
10.Participate in operations research including TB/HIV co infection
11.Prepare inventory of planned, ongoing and completed Tuberculosis research and disseminate the information to countries
12.Perform any other task as assigned by the Director DPC
QUALIFICATIONS REQUISES
Formation :
Essential: Medical degree with post graduate degree in public health with special courses in Tuberculosis
and Communicable disease.

Desirable: Post graduate training in public health, Epidemiology of Tuberculosis.

Compétences :
1.Technical competence in Tuberculosis with ability to plan, implement monitor and evaluate the control activities
2.Experience in training and conducting operations research
3.Good working and human relations with nationals and international staff
Expérience :
Essential: At least ten (10) years experience in public health and management of epidemiological surveillance and Control of Tuberculosis, including planning, implementing, evaluation,
teaching, operations research and influence of HIV on programmes.

Desirable: Extensive working experience in developing countries and at least five years of experience working with international health organizations (especially the WHO)

Langues :
Excellent knowledge of English or French with good working knowledge of the other.

US$ 80,629 fonctionnaire sans personnes à charge
US$ 86,791 fonctionnaire avec personnes à charge au premier degré
