OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME :
The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) is in the process of implementing a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution to modernize and replace its major administrative and programmatic information systems. The ERP project is known internally in PAHO as the Pan American Sanitary Bureau (PASB) Management Information System or PMIS.
Description of duties:
-Manages the internal (PAHO) resources of the PMIS project, coordinating the work with the System Integrator Project Manager, in a matrix environment;. Reviews plans and schedules project deliverables, goals and milestones;
- Communicates program status to PAHO PMIS Project Lead regularly;
- Requests resources, defines and regularly reviews the schedule and accumulated costs of PMIS project implementation;
- Ensures all Statement of Work and Vendor contracts are defined, measurable and executed in a timely manner;
- Establishes a Project Management Office (PMO) and team structure to be able to deliver multiple tracks of work at the same time;
- Efficiently identifies and solves project and/or team issues, escalating to the project governance bodies if and when necessary;
- Effectively and efficiently facilitates cross-functional team meetings to define actions and drive the decision-making process;
- Monitors and handles the scope changes in the project;
- Create strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning;
- Continually seeks and capitalizes upon opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships;
- Develop Requests for Proposals (RFP) for external services as required;
- Design and maintain technical and project documentation; and
- Performs other PMIS Project Management tasks as required.

In addition, the PMIS Project Manager will be able to work day-to-day demonstrating:
- Thorough and applied understanding of complex information systems and technology organizations;
- Excellent applied project management skills, inspire teamwork and responsibility with engagement team members, and uses current technology and tools to enhance the effectiveness of deliverables and services;
- Excellent management, teamwork and client service skills; and
- Integrity within a professional and diverse environment.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
University degree in Project Management, with a certification or masters in Project Management or a related field.
Skills:
PAHO values the following abilities to:
- Lead, manage, coordinate, plan and deliver ERP projects both on time and on budget;
- Experience with budget management;
- Manage stakeholders with good negotiation skills; ability to handle conflict;
- Ability to create a detailed project plan, alone or in collaboration with vendors, including the identification of financial and human resources;
- Work effectively in a mixed functional and matrix organization;
- Identify resources and cross-team resource requirements, and ensure those roles are filled in a timely manner so as to not impact project timelines;
- Use MS Office at an expert level, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Visio.
- Identify risks, opportunities and issues and to escalate them as appropriate;
- Provide executive level risk mitigation and contingency planning;
- Proactively manage (sub) contract delivery.
Experience:
Required: At least ten years or more of large project management experience, including at least five years in successful ERP implementation, including experience in effective communication with all levels of the Organization.

Desired: ERP implementation experience in large scale international company (with multiple offices world wide). Experience working with Workday software and in organizational change management would also be an asset.
Languages:
A minimum of advanced knowledge in English. Working knowledge of Spanish would be an asset.
Additional Information:
SALARY IS COMMENSURATE TO MARKET RATE. SHOULD CURRENT OCCUPATIONAL EARNINGS BE HIGHER, A SALARY MATCH REVEIW MAY BE CONSIDERED.

*Length of contract is directly related to the length of the PMIS project. As such, this consultancy may be extended beyond the above mentioned period.
