The Office of the Director-General supports the Director-General in providing global direction to the work of the Organization within the overall framework of WHO's Constitution, so as to maximize Organization-wide contribution to the work of Member States in achieving significant gains in health status.
The Reform Support Team in the Office of the Director-General is responsible for developing and maintaining an implementation plan for WHO reform, monitoring and reporting on WHO reform, promoting and communicating reform to internal and external stakeholders, and supporting change management.
Description of duties:
A. Support to the Director-General
1. Contributes to the organization of the Director-General's travel and meeting schedules, preparation and maintenance of briefing notes and travel reports.
2. Accompanies the Director-General on official travel, providing logistical and communications support, liaising with local organizers, and maintaining notes for the record of the Director-General's meetings.

B. WHO Reform Support Team
1. Manages documentation and information relating to work of the Reform Support Team, including collaborative workspaces, and archiving.
2. Manages information and reporting on WHO Reform, including regular and accurate updates on the financing of reform, and production of donor proposals and reports.
3. Implements the WHO reform communication strategy and work plan in collaboration with DGO/DCO, including use of modern information and communication technologies, and development of communication materials and approaches.
4. Contributes to the work of the Reform Support Team in conducting relevant research and analysis, including document review, internet searches and key-informant interviews
5. Carries out other activities as requested by the Reform Support Team leader.
University degree in business administration, management, health, social science or related field.

Postgraduate degree in public health, international development or related field.
Excellent organizational, project management and negotiation skills.
Analytical and writing skills to identify issues and prepare a variety of documents and briefing materials.
Knowledge of the WHO and UN systems.
Good communication skills, both oral and written.
Ability to work within and contribute to a team.
Diplomacy, tact and discretion.

At least 5 years of relevant experience with at least three years of experience in external relations or a related field in an international organization or setting.

Similar experience of support to senior staff.
Expert knowledge of English and intermediate knowledge of French required.

USD 60091 with primary dependants
