OBJECTIFS DU PROGRAMME
The Information and Technologies Management Unit (ITM) provides information and communication technology services to WHO/AFRO programmes region-wide including the 46 WHO country offices and 3 sub-regional offices in the region. The unit is also responsible for the formulation, implementation and coordination of WHO ITM strategies and policies in the region.
Description des fonctions
The incumbent performs the following duties:

1.Manages/oversees information systems projects that often involve innovative applications, dissimilar systems, as well as complex system integration and infrastructure linkages across the Region.

2.Provides authoritative technical and policy advice on systems provisioning, hosting and operation, in a changing business environment and the implications of various alternatives, on business applications and other related issues; identifies and plans for future needs; develops and disseminates best practices.

3.Provides technical advice to end-users, and consults with staff to identify and assess needs, and explain opportunities and limitations.

4.Ensures the development of standards, procedures and practices to ensure a stable and effective systems environment for IT infrastructure operations.


5.Manages/oversees IT Service Desk support services to ensure overall continual service and process improvement.

6.Contributes to preparations of budget, work program, and spending plans for ITM unit in the regional office and provides advice to ISTs/Country office on the same subject matter.

7.Performs any other duties as required by the Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUISES
Formation :
Essential: Advanced University degree in computer science or a related field.

Desirable: ITIL, COBIT, Prince2, Microsoft certification will be an asset.
Compétences :
.Professionalism: Knowledge of systems architecture, provisioning, hosting, operation, management, implementation and maintenance of information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure.

3.Client Orientation, excellent interpersonal and communication skills

4.Ability to take initiatives and maintain effective working relationship with people of different nationalities and cultural backgrounds

5.Ability to work under pressure
Expérience :
Essential: A minimum of seven years, with at least three in an International environment, of progressively responsible experience in planning, design, development, implementation, operation and maintenance of computer information systems, end-user support or related areas. Good knowledge of GSM System or similar ERP Systems.
Desirable: Experience in project management as well as solid knowledge of technology trends for effective user and ITM infrastructural support
Langues :
Excellent written and verbal communication in English or French, with a good working knowledge of the other.
Traitment annuel (Net d'impôts)
US$ 67,483 fonctionnaire sans personnes à charge
US$ 72,467 fonctionnaire avec personnes à charge au premier degré
Ajustement de Poste: 65.3 % des montants mentionnés ci-dessus. Ce pourcentage n'a qu'une valeur indicative et peut varier, chaque mois, à la hausse ou à la baisse.
