The objectives of the PARMaCM programme are to support:
Improvement of access to and quality of Emergency Obstetric and Neonatal Care (EmONC) services in selected districts;
The implementation of Adolescent friendly Health Services;
Improve Maternal, New-born, Child Health and Nutrition Programmes and services;
Mobilize Communities for improved Maternal, New-born and Child Health and
Build the capacity of health workers and health training institutions in the country.
Description of duties:
Under the direct supervision of the Maternal and Child Health Officer and the overall guidance of the WHO Representative, and in collaboration with IST/ESA, AFRO and HQ the incumbent will be responsible for but not limited to:

 Support the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Child and Adolescent Health (CAH) component of the Programme for Accelerating the Reduction of Maternal and Child Mortality (PARMaCM).
Provide technical support in the development/adaptation of Child and Adolescent Health strategies, guidelines, tools and training materials.
Support the conduct of monitoring, evaluation and operational research in the areas of Child and Adolescent Health.
Perform any other duties related or contributing to Child and Adolescent Health as requested by the WR.
Essential: Medical Degree from a recognized university with post graduate degree in pediatrics and/or public health

Desirable: Post-graduate diploma in child survival strategies and programmes, project implementation, health management, research, training.
Possess technical knowledge and managerial skills in the area of Child and Adolescent Health services organization and management, including situation analysis, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation;
Ability to design, organize and conduct trainings, design operational research studies and write reports;
Knowledge of national, regional and international policies, strategies and approaches on child and adolescent health;
Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, able to produce quality results under pressure, and follows through on commitments;
Develops innovative approaches and creativity, follows policies and procedures and completes work in timely manner;
Capable of independent actions and takes calculated risks;
Able to manage competing demands, deal with frequent change or unexpected events;
Presents information in a clear and persuasive way;
Undertakes self-development activities;
At least seven years of experience in managing child and adolescent health services;
At least three years of work experience on child and adolescent health service delivery, program design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and research.
Experience of working with international organizations, training and research institutions at international level.
Fluent in English and working knowledge of French.
Annual salary: (Net of tax)
US$ 67,483 at single rate
US$ 72,467 with primary dependants
Post Adjustment: 43.5 % of the above figure(s). This percentage is to be considered as indicative since variations may occur each month either upwards or downwards due to currency exchange rate fluctuations or inflation.
