OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME :
Through its Operational Support Services (OSS), ASU provides high-quality, consistent, and responsive administrative services focusing on delivering key services essential for the day-to-day operations.

Purpose of the Position:
To provide transportation to WHO staff and visitors, as well as delivery/collection of services, documents and goods, related to the official work of the Organization.

Organizational Context:
The incumbent, as part of the drivers team, will undertake transportation services as assigned by the Senior Driver in charge. Clear and precise instructions are provided on each individual assignment and no deviation is permited.
Description of duties:
1- Drives office vehicles for transport of authorized personnel and delivery/collection and customs clearance of official incoming and outgoing pouches and transportation of documents, hand-delivery of mail, parcels and other heavy items to or from UN Agencies, Ministries and other organizations.

2- Is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the vehicle, checks fuel, oil, coolant, battery, breaks, tyres, etc. Performs minor repairs and arranges for other repairs and ensures the proper functioning of the vehicle and that the vehicle is kept clean.

3- Logs official trips, daily mileage, fuel consumption, oil changes, greasing, etc.

4- Follows WHO rules and regulations in case of involvement in an accident.

5- Performs messengerial services within the office as required by supervisors.

Achievement Activities Include:
1. Services rendered in a timely and accurate manner.
2. Office car well maintained.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Essential:
Primary education.
Must possess a valid Egyptian professional driving license for the light and heavy duty vehicles.
Skills:
Competencies:
1) Communicating in a credible and effective way.
2) Knowing and managing yourself.
3) Fostering Integration and Teamwork.

Functional skills and knowledge:
- Technical and mechanical knowledge and skills pertaining to the car and its upkeep.
- Good knowledge of the city and local traffic situation.

Other Considerations (e.g. Physical Workplace Condition, if other than normal office environment; IT Skills; etc.):

Must be able to handle weights not exceeding 25 kgs without assistance.
Experience:
Essential: Two to three years professional experience driving cars and heavy duty vehicles.
Languages:
Good knowledge of Arabic. Basic knowledge of English.
