OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME :
To expand the implementation of the Stop TB / Malaria - Vectorborne and Parasitic (including Dengue and Neglected Tropical Diseases) strategy and strengthen disease control by: applying effective strategies and policies, including those related to co-infection and multi-drug resistance; increasing the involvement of communities, health-care providers, nongovernmental organizations and corporate partners, through increased country support and strong partnerships; and to strengthen surveillance, monitoring and evaluation.
Description of duties:
Under the general supervision of the Team Leader, MVP unit, the incumbent performs the following functions:

1. Provides assistance and conducts administrative duties and general processing functions for the Team Leader and MVP team members, including: drafting of correspondence in an adequate and timely manner; facilitating communication exchange with other offices of WHO, partners and other stakeholders; supporting in the procurement of services and goods; processing logistics in recruitment and selection; performing administrative task in recruitment of interns and MVP staff; coordinating briefing and debriefing schedules; organizing duty travels of MVP team members; formating and finalizing meeting and mission reports; and establishing and maintaining required records, project files and reference materials;

2. Coordinates and monitors project or programme implementation by: facilitating payments to the suppliers; monitoring activity and budget commitments;

3. Provides administrative support for all aspects of planning and implementing MVP meetings, brownbags, workshops, consultations and trainings;

4. Occasionally replaces secretarial staff within the unit or division during their absence, as coordinated by the Principal Administrative Assistant;

5. Performs other duties as and may be required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Equivalent to graduation from secondary school with thorough training in secretarial/administrative duties. Relevant higher level diploma or degree is an advantage.
Skills:
Thorough knowledge of office procedures. Results oriented, good communication skills and interpersonal skills. Ability to act with tact, diplomacy, discretion and respect for confidentiality. Ability to prepare correspondence, summary of meetings, documentation and notes for the record. Typing skills, good computer skills and ability to learn and use different software applications. Ability to discern routine from non-routine. Ability to work harmoniously as a member of a team, adapt to diverse educational and cultural backgrounds, and maintain a high standard of personal conduct.
Experience:
Five years' experience in secretarial/administrative posts. Experience working in WHO or another international organization with multi-cultural and high work pressure environment is preferred.
Languages:
Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English.

477 362 at single rate
