OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME :
The broad objective of the Fellowships (FEL) programme is to support the development of human resources for health and for the strengthening of health systems, in collaboration with Member States, in particular, the implementation and management of fellowships and study tours including screening and placement of fellows, reporting, monitor and evaluation.
Description of duties:
1. As focal point for assigned countries, process fellowship application including research training and visiting scientist grants through the use of the Fellowship Information System and GSM by: registering receipt of applications; obtaining technical clearance; arranging placement and reminders; preparing correspondence of confirmation; computing the final fellowship estimate; finalizing the letter of award; and maintaining an appropriate system for follow-up on responses and deadlines; checking budget provision; creating supplier data; preparing travel and procurement requests for issuance of air tickets and payment of fellows' stipends.

2. Through the use of the fellowship information system and GSM, register, monitor and update status of individual fellows and the overall fellowship activities in the assigned countries including preparation of reports/statistics.

3. Maintain, update, monitor and follow-up of reporting requirements from fellows, host institutions, referring and recipient governments; input/outcomes evaluation, prepare reports and statistics.

4. Provide briefing and guidance to fellows on procedures and practices.

5. Prepare general correspondence on brief instructions from supervisor or own initiative; types statements, reports, statistical tables, etc., from manuscripts ensuring grammatical accuracy, conformity with procedural accuracy and format.

6. Maintain office records, filing and reference systems in area of responsibility.

7. Occasionally replace another team member within the office during their absence, as coordinated by the Administrative Assistant.

8. Performs other duties as and may be required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Equivalent to graduation from secondary school with secretarial/administrative training.
Skills:
Thorough knowledge of office procedures, typing skills and ability to prepare correspondence. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work harmoniously as a member of a team, adapt to diverse educational and cultural backgrounds and maintain a high standard of personal conduct.
Experience:
Five years experience in secretarial/administrative posts. Experience in WHO or in another international organization an advantage.
Languages:
Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English.
Additional Information:

477 362 at single rate
