OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME :
The WHO Global Service Centre provides administrative services to all staff and all WHO offices worldwide in respect of human resources, payroll, pension, procurement, accounts payable and support of specific corporate IT applications. The aim of this Centre is to serve as the global processing platform for the swift and reliable delivery of a comprehensive array of products and services covering all these fields.

The Global Finance (GFI) provides processing and accounting for all payroll, supplier and staff expense payments for the Organization. Payments are prepared on the basis of approved information with the integrated GSM systems, originating from other parts of WHO, and from multiple applications (e.g. Procurement, HR, Travel etc). Payment processing requires a number of high volume tasks, which nevertheless requires attention to detail. Processing errors could lead to large-scale financial loss to the Organization, and severe inconvenience to staff and/or suppliers, globally.
Description of duties:
Under the supervision of the Team Lead Travel within the Accounts Payable Unit, the incumbent will provide financial assistance in processing all travel requests, tavel claims, retroactive travel claims.

The duties are not intended to be all-inclusive nor are all duties carried out by all the incumbents. However, staff may be rotated and assigned to perform other duties within the Accounts Payable Unit, including ad hoc assignments as determined by the Head of Accounts Payable, including reinforcing other teams or replacing other staff members as required.

As part of the Staff Expense Payment team, the incumbent is responsible for the following activities:
- Processing of Travel Requests (TR), Travel Claims (TC) and Retroactive Travel Claims (RTC);
- Using the coding for full IATA and Full Flex;
- Determining alternative routing if no direct routing is available;
- Using the most frequent and direct routing where fares are determined based on itinerary;
- Preparing payment of travel or other advances to eligible staff and per diem to participants and temporary advisers;
- Checking and verifying batches of computer processed travel claims;
- Calculating, accounting and liquidation of TR and TCs and related travel claims by staff members;
- Creating and up-dating staff members and suppliers administrative data;
- Responding to enquiries and providing support, advice and guidance to clients in Headquarters, Regional Offices, Country offices;
- Preparing financial tables, special reports, and other ad hoc internal reports;
- Performing ad hoc assignments, special projects, and other duties as and when required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Essential:
- Completion of secondary school education with a diploma in IATA/UFETA.

Desirable:
- Higher education an advantage.
Skills:
Essential:
-Demonstrated skill and proficiency in the use of computers and information technology;
-Expertise in the use of spreadsheet, word processing, presentation and Web-based software;

Experience:
Essential:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with at least 2 years in the field of international airline
ticketing.

Desirable:
- Experience in using the electronic travel system "AMADEUS" and an ERP system such as Oracle would be an advantage.
- Experience in using SIEBEL system would be an advantage.
Languages:
Essential:
- Excellent knowledge of English both written and spoken.

Desirable:
- Working knowledge of French and local language (Malay) would be an added advantage.

Annual salary: (Net of tax)
MYR45,114 per annum exempt of tax at single rate
