UT/UTD UNITAID International drug purchase facility
UNITAID's mission is to contribute to the scale-up of access to treatment for HIV/AIDs, malaria and tuberculosis for people in developing countries by leveraging price reductions for quality drugs and diagnostics and accelerating the pace at which they are made available.
Description of duties:
Under direction of the Coordinator of Market Dynamics:
- Design, develop, and manage the UNITAID Knowledge Management system (both content and processes);
- Create and manage a web portal (with support from Information Technology) to access market dynamics resources for internal and external use;
- Create and maintain a taxonomy associated using search and retrieval software for information stored in UNITAID's Knowledge Management System;
- Create and maintain knowledge repositories to store and organize articles, reports and other resources related to market dynamics;
- Create and oversee a physical library for market dynamics resources;
- Facilitate cross-project learning and best practice transfer within and outside UNITAID through
documentation and dissemination/sharing of lessons learned;
- Create and maintain market dynamics social networking sites;
- In collaboration with the Communications team, coordinate the development of press materials and media campaigns related to market dynamics;
- Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with UNITAID staff, partners, and external colleagues;
- Conduct continuous quality improvement to evaluate information adequacy and quality as well as staff and partners' needs, and recommend changes to tools, repositories, and processes;
- Develop and manage matrix of experts, collaborators, and consultants that can support the market dynamics work of UNITAID;
- Provide orientation to all incoming staff on market dynamics resources;
- Respond to information requests on an as-needed, as-available basis;
- Develop and monitor metrics to assess internal and external satisfaction with market dynamics resources and tools;
- Draft and edit reports, briefs, talking points, peer-reviewed publications, and oral presentations;
- Organize the development and delivery of training sessions and in-services on market dynamics;
- Organize materials for board and committee meetings;
- Organize working groups, expert meetings, and other meetings related to market dynamics;
- Represent UNITAID at key meetings and events related to market dynamics;
- Perform any other activities as required by the Coordinator of Market Dynamics.
First-level degree in communication, public health, information technology, library science or a related field.
First-level degree in Business Administration; certification in Knowledge Management.

Knowledge of international organizations working in the area of HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria. Exceptional project management and organizational skills. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Power Point) as well as expertise in publishing software.

At least five years experience in project management or knowledge management, including
management and dissemination of health related information to lay and professional audiences.
Experience in using social media (blogs, Wikis, internet forums, podcasts, etc.) and social networking (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, etc.) for dissemination of health-related information. Experience in designing and delivering public health training materials. Experience working in the area of HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and/or malaria. Experience in writing technical reports.
Experience with Content or Document Management Systems. Experience with Microsoft SharePoint Portal. Experience creating web portals and developing web pages. Experience working in the UN system. International experience outside own country.
Excellent knowledge of English required. Working knowledge of French an asset.

Annual salary: (Net of tax)
USD 56 018 at single rate
USD 60 013 with primary dependants
Post Adjustment: 100.2 % of the above figure(s). This percentage is to be considered as indicative since variations may occur each month either upwards or downwards due to currency exchange rate fluctuations or inflation.
