- Responsible for providing Oracle support and advice on Payroll matters to the HR and Payroll teams in the Global Service Centre (GSC). To contribute towards streamlining the HR and Payroll processes.
- Takes lead in monitoring the payroll run activities and ensures that Oracle payroll engine processing rules are adhered to.
- Provides assistance to payroll functional/business analyst in areas of GSM payroll support /system enhancements.
Description of duties:
- Is responsible for performing all the necessary system steps and configurations whenever any new element is introduced in GSM system.
- Ensures that sanity checks are carried out in clone environments prior to release of any new modules/functionality to wider audience.
- Prepares ad-hoc reports using SQL developer, TOAD etc. and verifies the output before handing over to management/users.
- Prepares first action report for job/process failures and notifies payroll functional/business analyst of the system breakdown.
- Collaborates with ITT support team and prepares generalized templates to streamline the testing activities.
- Responsible for raising and prioritizing service requests.
- Co-ordinates the testing of payroll, cross functional issues and keep various stakeholders informed on the progress.
- Assists in identifying and planning of configuration and development activities.
- Assists payroll functional/business analyst during execution of special projects to perform data analysis, testing, conversion etc.
- Assists payroll functional/business analyst in enhancing the discoverer reporting solution.
- Works with internal customers to develop and enhance business application.
- Provides aid in the development of guide that summarizes the overall roles and responsibilities of technical support.
- Transfers functional and technical knowledge to the team through:
(a) Scheduled individual and group classroom training sessions and demonstrations,
(b) ad-hoc training and demonstrations by sitting with team members as required,
(c) Written instructions and documents.
- Updates and advises Head, Payroll and Coordinator GFI on important GSM issues both at the local or global levels for efficient and effective decision-making.
- Other duties as required.
Essential: University degree in IT or other related field, or equivalent professional training or self-study/work experience.

Desirable: University degree preferably in computer science.

- A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience of Oracle base HR and Payroll.
- At least 1 full life cycle implementation project experience on Oracle HR/PAY.
- Should have worked on at least 1 support engagement.
- In depth knowledge of the underlying database record structures and competent with writing SQL queries.

- A good understanding of the Oracle Application Technical Architecture would be an advantage.
- Excellent knowledge of English both written and spoken.

- Knowledge of another WHO official language.
